Havoc on the border

Bronze Boot - UW vs CSU
FORT COLLINS — Back in the day, Raiders vs. Broncos was an eye- gouging, trash-talking, full-blown rivalry. These days? Not so much.

But at high noon Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, the real rivalry gets down and dirty when the Wyoming Cowboys host the Colorado State Rams. In the oldest rivalry for both schools, they will meet for the 100th time.

Cowgirls roll past Fighting Sioux

When you think about hitting the century mark, you think of scorching the nets. Emma Langford and the Cowgirls did just that.

When you think about giving up 75 points, you’re not thinking about good defense.

Yet, the Wyoming defense keyed some offensive outbursts in the 100-75 win over North Dakota Thursday night in the Arena-Auditorium.

El fuego: Cowgirl offense sizzles

Sophomore Randi Richardson made the local faithful jump for joy when she nailed two free throws that put Wyoming at the century mark, as the Cowgirls ran past North Dakota 100-75 Thursday night in the Arena-Auditorium.

Cowgirls open at home with 100 points

As the North Dakota Fighting Sioux begins its transition into Division I women’s basketball this season, the team casually looked up into the rafters of the Arena-Auditorium Thursday night before the tip-off against the Wyoming Cowgirls to watch dedication of the Wyoming’s 2008 NCAA Tournament banner.

Cowgirls recover familiar AA love

LARAMIE - Perhaps the University of Wyoming women's basketball team had to get reacclimated to its home arena after starting its season with a pair of road games.

The Cowgirls came out cold against visiting North Dakota and hit just 8 of their first 21 shots and found themselves trailing by 11.

General Site News

University of Wyoming Alumni section up and running

7200Feet.com's goal has been to create a one-stop location for Wyoming Athletics... but in addition to that, we also wanted to create a place where alumni and friends of the university could gather. Unfortunately, the University of Wyoming does not have a good site for alumni or future grads to go in order to meet and interact.

7200Feet.com is trying to fill that void.

We have launched a new section of the site that attempts to capture what new grads are looking for -- specifically, a job and a network of UW grads close to them.

There is also an Alumni Event section that will keep everyone up-to-date on what is going on related to the University.  As a 7200Feet.com member, please feel free to add you own events if you know of something that you'd like others to be able to participate in.

As more people sign up, they will be added to the map and the listing allowing members to network with other members in their part of the country. This is a great opportunity for younger alumni to meet older alumni and vice-versa. Feel free to use the message board to contribute ideas or suggestions that you'd like to see in this new section.

The alumni section will only grow with your help, so be sure to join or update your account if you are a current member. Only members are allowed to see and access other members' information.

Welcome to 7200 Feet! This website is dedicated to you, the die-hard Poke fan. We aim to be your one stop shop for up-to-date news on University of Wyoming athletics. We also are slowly building an alumni focus into the website -- a gathering place for those from around the country to re-unite. But we can't do it alone. 7200feet.com will only continue to get better with contributions from all of our readers. Don't hesitate to speak out! Other Poke fans want to hear what you have to say!

We have made 7200 feet a virtual meeting place for people associated with the University of Wyoming. Whether you are a student, parent, alumni, faculty or staff member, or friend of the University, this site is for you. Take a look around, and join the Forum. It is a great place to meet other people associated with the University of Wyoming, and discuss all that interests you. It is here that you can make arrangements for upcoming UW events, discuss the most recent basketball or football game you attended, find an apartment, make plans for the weekend, buy and sell textbooks, get information about classes you may be taking, find a tutor, and network with others just like you. None of this can happen without your active membership, so don't be shy, join the forum and make some noise!

It is also beneficial for you to register here, at the home site. This will allow us to track our members, and get the word out in parts of the state with fewer members. You will also be able to search for your friends, or long lost friends on the main site. Of course, upon registering you will have the option to keep your information private.
